General mechanical knowledge is a must; can be in the Automotive, Machine Maintenance, Diesel Mechanic fields.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK PERFORMED:

  • Prepare machine components for shipment.
  • Safely operate fork truck and crane for the movement and storage of materials.
  • General cleaning and preparation of machine components and sub-assemblies.
  • Rigging and moving of major machine tool components.
  • Disassembly, rebuild and re-assembly of all types’ machine tools and sub-assemblies.
  • Read and analyze OEM manuals and assembly drawings.
  • Assist in resolving mechanical problems and issues.
  • Use precision measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Travel to customer locations to perform mechanical repairs and installation.
  • Organize, tag and mark components for future assembly.
  • Identify and repair or replace damaged mechanical components.
  • General knowledge of bearings and method of installation.
  • Make hose assemblies.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical a plus.

Job Description:

Perform a wide variety of tasks associated with servicing, repairing or operation of most CNC machine tools. Use precision test equipment to analyze, troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electrical problems. Advanced operation of CNC controls from different manufacturers. Successfully coordinate and complete the installation of all machine tools. Work closely with customers, vendors, OEM’s, and other KRC personnel. Extensive travel with limited notice. Independently organize and complete a successful service call. Assist other service engineers, and preventive maintenance technicians. General scraping and fitting of machine tool components (not mandatory but improves your value). Troubleshoot and repair electronic circuitry to component level. Perform a variety of advanced specialized machine tool repair processes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Dismantle and prepare machines for shipment.
  • Level and alignment of machines.
  • Troubleshoot and repair of major machine tool problems.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced machine tool knowledge and terminology.
  • 3 or more years of experience in machine tool field service.
  • Associates degree in electronic engineering or related field of study--experience may be substituted for the education.
  • Complete knowledge of mechanical systems and components.
  • Full understanding of multiple machine tool specifications and have an advanced knowledge of test equipment.
  • Mechanical hand tools and tool box.
  • Intermediate knowledge of parametric programming and ladder logic.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and some power tools.
  • Set up and operate Renishaw Ballbar and Renishaw Laser Calibration equipment (desirable, not mandatory).
  • Ability to do final scrape and or fitting of most machine tool components is desirable (not mandatory).
  • Working knowledge of applications processes and programming.

1) Performs maintenance tasks related to facilities functions as scheduled by maintenance management. Maintenance includes Daily Checks, Preventative/Proactive, & Reactive Maintenance of the following Systems:

a) Facility Steam Boilers

b) Facility Air Compressor Systems

c) Facility Water Treatment Systems

2) Can perform the basic maintenance functions like painting, hanging wall hung items, minor repairs of walls, doors, roof, and structures.

3) Can determine supplies needed to perform the above tasks and can acquire them with the support of KRC purchasing.

4) Per written procedures and as required, adds oil, grease and other lubricants to company machinery.

5) Maintains and monitors coolant systems.

6) Makes minor repairs to lubrication coolant and sensing systems.

7) Inventories and orders oils/grease/coolant as required.

8) Performs general cleanup such as sweeping, removing various waste.

9) Operates power cleaning and polishing equipment.

10) Maintain a clean work environment (including assigned storage and cleaning duties) in full compliance with company standards, customer and government regulations.

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: MAINTENANCE MANAGER

PAY RANGE:

WORK SUMMARY: Under general supervision, maintain selected electronic and electrical systems on furnaces and associated equipment throughout the company.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES :

1) Learn & understand relevant industrial (AMS 2750) & Customer specific standards relevant to Heat Treatment of metal in aerospace applications.

2) Prepare, perform and record system accuracy tests, enter the data into spreadsheet file and save.

3) Set up thermal uniformity survey and data recorder and enter data into spreadsheet file and save.

4) May trouble-shoot/repair electronic/electrical components on computer controlled and numeric controlled machinery and systems such as heat-treating ovens.

5) Performs periodic maintenance on electrical/electronic systems on all Heat treatment machine tools and associated equipment. Maintain records associated with periodic maintenance.

6) May program all controllers and instruments on all furnaces. Assists calibration department in calibrating furnaces as required.

7) Assists in the development and maintenance of a business culture, which supports the Company's overall business objectives and goals.

8) Ensures the company's commitment to maintain a safe workplace and to protect the environment through the establishment and support of Company policy and adherence to various government regulations.
